Fashion's Night Out is just over a week away and I'm totally overwhelmed by everything that's happening! Just in case you don't have enough already on your plate, here are two more options from Frederic Fekkai and Bumble & Bumble!

I can't lie: As much as I write about and think about beauty products and treatments, in my downtime, my personal maintenance can get a little, well . . . behind. So after a summer of long outdoor runs, and a beach and boat-y vacation, I was truly in need of some hair rehab--my superblonde locks were FRIED! I booked it down to Sally Hershberger Downtown for some much-needed pampering with Mike. He took one look at my haylike mane, and rather than chastising me for not keeping up with weekly at-home deep-conditioning treatments, he just recommended a Shu Uemura Silk Bloom Restorative Treatment. While the supercreamy formula was absorbing into my hair, he explained that deep-conditioning treatments are really easy to maintain at home. "Just don't overdo it," he advised. "Don't do it more than once a week or leave a treatment on for longer than the box recommends. You can actually do more damage than good." Apparently some of the proteins in popular treatments that are meant to restore your hair can actually dry it out. So always follow the directions! After the treatment I had exactly what I wanted--a subtle improvement and a slightly less-thirsty-looking 'do.

Gosh, Claire Danes looked pretty last night! I feel like she just gets more and more beautiful, from My So Called Life to Romeo & Juliet (I still love that movie...definitely a must-watch) she seems to just get glowier! Her acceptance speech was also so, so sweet. My point is--I love her. Anyway, makeup wizard Matin was behind her sparkly Emmy's look, and he shared how to recreate it at home!

I know I've blogged about cute Band-Aids in the past and you may be thinking "What is it with her and bandages??" I don't know. When it comes to being careful in the sun, I'm pretty good at practicing what I preach. I spend a lot of time on this blog going on and on about wearing sunscreen and staying protected, but that's really only half of the battle. Recently I started feeling kind of guilty that after all that hoopla I'd never actually had a skin cancer screening. The truth is, I was kind of terrified of doing it! But for your sake, dear readers, I decided to go for it and share my experience so you won't be freaked out!

There are only a few things I don't like about having curly hair, and at the top of the list is not being able to pull off bangs. I love them, and have always felt serious hair envy toward those who have perfect, eyebrow-skimming fringe (Zoey Deschanel, Rachel Bilson, and Nicole Richie: I'm looking at you). Talk about heavenly!
