10 Celebrities Who Have Acne
Think of breakouts as the great equalizer. Race, religion, fame, and your opinion on pepperoni has absolutely nothing to do with whether you have acne — which is equal parts refreshing and incredibly frustrating. The good news: This also means you’re not alone, even — or maybe especially — when it comes to certain celebs, who vouch for acne-targeting brands and post their spot-treatment selfies for the world to see. Instead of hiding their skin behind filters, they wear their imperfections with pride. So in honor of those brave, skin-baring trendsetters who’ve made it okay to Snapchat while zit-zapping, here are the celebs who show their skin love, pimple(s) and all.

Mindy Kaling
Leave it to Kaling to keep it real. Last year, the creator and star of The Mindy Project posted a selfie of her face covered in zit cream right before her guest appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. (Because of course.)

Lucy Hale
The thing about zit cream is that sometimes, you forget you’re wearing it. Thank you, Hale, for bringing a good sense of humor to a bad breakout (and rude paparazzi shot).

Ashley Benson
No surprise that Benson would post the prettiest pimple-cream selfie of all time. Plus, that pattern around her T-zone? We know it all too well.

Lorde
Just as bad as pimples are the scars they leave behind, which are notoriously tough to get erase. So props to the singer for calling out the difference on her Twitter between an edited and unedited photo revealing her acne scars.

Katy Perry
Teenage dream? More like teenage nightmare—and, worst of all, it’s one that doesn’t end once you wake up. That’s why the pop star teamed up with acne-treatment brand Proactiv as a spokesperson back in 2010.

Julianne Hough
Hough didn’t really experience skin issues as a teen—until at 18, she joined Dancing with the Stars and the combo of makeup and sweating led to breakouts. Proactiv worked for her, too, which is why she’s been a spokesperson for the brand for five years (and counting!).

Bella Thorne
On Instagram, Thorne shared that she used to cry every night as a result of her acne before tagging the post with #mynaturalbeauty (alongside a #nomakeup selfie to boot). From what we can tell, though, it seems like her skin has come a long way since then.

Demi Lovato
If you thought Lovato was just going to sit there and let acne have its way, you were wrong. Her struggles led to Devonne by Demi, an entire line dedicated to clear skin. She even gave the Acne Rescue Treatment a shout-out on her Instagram, crediting it for zapping every zit she’s had.

Miley Cyrus
Cyrus is all about ‘gramming her anti-acne beauty routine. In interviews, Cyrus has revealed that she does her own makeup because she’s obsessed with cleanliness—and suspects grimy brushes are behind her breakouts. If that doesn’t make you want to scrub your foundation brush, we don’t know what will.
