See All the 2023 CFDA Awards Winners & Red Carpet Looks in Pictures
The Met Gala might be fashion’s biggest night, but the CFDA Awards is a close second. The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) is a non-profit association founded in 1962 with a membership of 458 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry, eyewear, and accessory designers. Every year, the best and brightest gather in their finest outfits to celebrate the big wins of the past year, and 2023 was no exception.
The 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion, took place on November 6 at the American Museum of Natural History. A slew of fashion’s best were honored for their work in, around, and throughout the fashion and design space. Anne Hathaway served as this year's lead host of the evening and presented the American Womenswear Designer of the Year Award to Catherine Holstein of Khaite. Mary J. Blige introduced a special hip-hop tribute film by legendary music video director Hype Williams, made possible by New Era. Demi Moore presented Goop with the Innovation Award presented by Amazon Fashion, accepted by Gwyneth Paltrow. Charles Melton and Zac Posen announced the Shop with Google American Emerging Designer of the Year winner, Rachel Scott of Diotima. Bottoms actor Ayo Edebiri and designer Prabal Gurung announced The Row as the American Accessory Designer of the Year.
2023 CFDA Awards Winners:
Aside from winners galore, the CFDA Awards is another chance for our favorites to step out in their best looks. The Summer I Turned Pretty star Lola Tung looked stunning wearing a crystallized Balmain mini dress. Popular YouTuber and resident fashion girl Emma Chamberlain wore Thom Browne, giving us a taste of schoolgirl angst. While Madelyne Cline, star of Outer Banks on Netflix, wore a stunning floor-length Oscar de la Renta gown. All of our favorites stepped out onto the white carpet, rocking mainly American designers.
