A Teen Is Going Viral After Getting Stuck Inside a Barney Costume
Ask any teen who has gone viral on the internet, and they'll tell you that fame often comes for the most unlikely reasons. Two teenage boys went global (and daaaaaaaamn, gave you your new favorite catch phrase) earlier this year over a pair white sneakers, and now 15-year-old Darby Risner from Trussville, Alabama, is getting the same treatment. But rather than wear white Vans better than anyone ever, Darby is going viral because she got stuck...
...In a Barney costume.
Well, the head of one.
What started out as a joke at a sleepover quickly escalated when the Barney head slid so far down Darby's body that neither she or her friends could remove the costume. (We guess the body of these mascot costumes helps actually keep the head from sliding down your shoulders. ~The more you know.~) The group finally had to make their way to a fire department, where the firefighters admitted to laughing about the sight.
Trussville Fire Lt. Vince Bruno told AL.com that, “When they walked in, you couldn’t help but start laughing. We tried to be professional, and she was a little distraught, but we had to giggle about it.” They eventually cut her free — but not before her friends took all of the necessary Snaps. (Darby herself says she's laughed about it, so clearly there are no hard feelings.)
