How To Make Baroque-Inspired Boots

Repeat Stenciling
Fill in this stencil with paint just as you did the first, stamping softly, not brushing. Repeat, carefully moving the stencil until you reach the bottom of the laces. After you reach the bottom of the row of laces, rinse the stencil, wipe it with a paper towel, and replace the backing.

Dab Pink Paint
Pour a small amount of pink paint onto a plate and lightly dip a foam brush in it. Dab the brush on the side of the plate so it is not drippy or over-saturated with paint. Gently dab the inside of the stencil with your brush. Work in a soft, stamping — not brushing — motion until you fill the area of the stencil.

Repeat Gold Stenciling
Repeat your gold stencil between each of the pink stencils, overlapping the pink with the gold, along the side of the shoe. After your last stencil on this side, rinse the stencil, wipe it with a paper towel, and replace the backing. This will keep the stencil in good condition to be reused.

Fill In Large Stencil
Instead of a foam brush, use Q-tips to fill in alternating sections of the large stencil with pink and gold. Dip and stamp the Q-tip in the smaller areas of the stencil, just like you were with the foam brush. Replace your Q-tip whenever it starts to get soggy. Rinse the stencil, and repeat on the other toe cap.
