We Tried Becca Chocolate Geode Highlighter on Six Different Skin Tones
There are many reasons why highlighter — whether in powder, cream, or Body Lava form — has a permanent place in our makeup bags. From the megawatt gleam it lends to our selfies to its mood-boosting properties, it's earned a place in our daily routines. And while it's tough to choose a single favorite from the many, many luminizers currently on the market, one recent launch got us especially excited.
When Becca Cosmetics released its newest shade of its Shimmering Skin Perfector, Chocolate Geode, it was instantly shouted out as a game-changer on social media. Formulated specifically to bring out the glow of deeper skin tones, the bronze-gold shade instantly won over Instagram, with people taking to the comments section to share their excitement: "Thanks for making beautiful products for all skin tones!!!" wrote one user. "Yesssss @beccacosmetics always leading the way when it comes to inclusive beauty ❤️❤️❤️" said another.
Not too long after, the brand introduced another shade, a limited-edition one called Dreamsicle, which is another great option for darker skin tones as well. And while the conversation surrounding inclusivity in beauty is largely dominated by base products like concealer and foundation, let's not forget our other makeup faves.
