Seth Weisser, cofounder and CEO of the New York vintage haunt What Goes Around Comes Around has some pro tips for buying and caring for retro tops. For starters, size matters: "Nineties tees tend to run larger than ’80s tees, and ’70s tees run even smaller. It’s important to keep this in mind so you find the right fit,” he said. Next up, keep it real: "Verify authenticity by examining a tee’s label and tags. There are a lot of counterfeits on the market.” Consider shelf life: “Fold your tees to store them. Thin tees tend to stretch, and hangers can damage them after too long,” he explains. And lastly, easy does it: "Hand-wash and air-dry your vintage tees whenever possible. They will break down over time, so treat them gently and try not to overwear them."
