Blue Eyeshadow
It was truly the year of blue eyeshadow. From Millie Bobby Brown's metallic-colored lids to Storm Reid's matching moment, celebs were frequently spotted rocking the hue. Along with blue eyeshadow, celebs took the color one step further — wearing blue eyeliner. The hue may have been a popular red carpet staple, but as the experts advised Teen Vogue, you can easily pull off this color in your daily beauty routine. New to this trending look? Palettes from Huda Beauty and ColourPop provide easy to follow coloring options.

Neon Colored Hair
It was almost impossible to keep up with the frequent hair color changes that occurred in 2018. Along with Cardi B's Mountain Dew-inspired tresses, stars like Kylie Jenner, Joey King, Zayn Malik, and Bella Thorne all debuted electrifying new color. Even fruit provided coloring inspiration, with stylists noting an uptick in requests for blackberry-inspired hair color. Bold Brows
Forget everything you thought you knew about brows. This year featured numerous epic moments in brows — including Rihanna's barely there hairs on the cover of Vogue, Camila Mendes's reveal of her must-have brow products, and Halsey's feather brows. As celebs like Kiernan Shipka, Lily Collins, and Serena Williams demonstrated, finding your best beauty look is always about whatever makes you feel beautiful.

'90s-Inspired Lip Color
It might almost be 2019, but many celebs were still taking a nod from the '90s for their lip coloring. During this 2018 appearance, Rihanna had us ready to embrace flared jeans and chocolate brown lipstick. The Fenty Beauty founder wasn't the only star to have a #TBT makeup moment. Lili Reinhart channeled the '90s for a Riverdale look we wanted to copy IRL and Vanessa Hudgens used a high bun, brown eyeshadow, and deep brown lip liner to give us all of the "90s vibezzz." Sparkle and Shine
Glitter was everywhere in 2018. From Kaia Gerber's gemstone-covered eyes to Rihanna's glitter-coated tongue, there was just no stopping the sparkle. And with brands like Marc Jacobs, Fenty Beauty, and Kylie Cosmetics all releasing products filled with shine, our own beauty looks can truly glitter as bright as the stars above.

Mini Tattoos
This year wasn't exactly lacking on tattoo news. From cute cover ups to matching couple tats, celebs weren't shy about showing off their ink. Although some stars stuck with the classic tattoo sizes, others, including the newly married Biebers, Kaia Gerber, Ariana Grande, and Emma Roberts all chose teeny-tiny tattoos. In fact, the mini tattoo trend was so popular that some temporary tattoo companies created similar ink you could DIY for awhile.

Negative Space Makeup
We were totally intrigued with this year's use of negative space makeup. As Lily Collins and Kendall Jenner showed us, just a few small strokes of product can completely transform your look. This beauty trend isn't exactly an optical illusion, but it does make for some seriously trendy looks. And as Lily's makeup artist revealed, creating these looks requires only your fave eyeliner and some cotton swabs.

Space Buns
Space buns never go out of style. The trendy and cute hairstyle showed up on the heads of numerous celebs — including Selena Gomez, Storm Reid, and Ariana Grande. The style is relatively easy to DIY, and as these famous faces demonstrated, you can make the popular look your own with the addition of scrunchies, extra volume, or even another 2018 trend — sparkle.

Scrunchies
Following the release and success of Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we noticed a definite increase in scrunchies interest. Scrunchies have long been a fave among celebs, but Lara Jean Covey brought an updated take on the classic trend, sporting colorful hair accessories that matched with her every wardrobe change.

Dazzling Nail Art
We never expected that 2018 would include manicures made with snow globes or a viral coloring inspired by lunchmeat. From Cardi B rocking $200 manicures to nail art that had to stretch for miles, nails in 2018 were all about taking serious risks. I don't know that I'll ever be able to say "Thank U, Next" to an Ariana Grande-inspired manicure, but with so much new (and flowery) mani inspo to choose from, I'm already envisioning a 2019 filled with frequent new manis. And don't worry, you can always turn the experts for help achieving your own dazzling nail art.
