Best Indie Beauty Products at Shen Beauty
Sure the start of a new year is a great time to green your routine, but all it takes is one step into Jessica Richard's beauty haven, Shen Beauty, to inspire us to go natural all year round. The shelves of her Brooklyn boutique are packed with good-for-you finds that you can't get anywhere else. Think: a cleanser packed with superfoods like kale and spinach to get you your glowiest skin ever, a face oil that protects against pollution and a bamboo-based eye mask that eases puffiness in a flash. Luckily, you can shop many of these all-stars online, and we sat down with Jessica to get the scoop on her favorite products (all vigorously vetted by her and her team). Oh and the gorgeous, minimalist packaging worthy of a bathroom #shelfie that you'll find in the slideshow ahead? That's just an added bonus.

Youth to the People Cleanser
Kale, green tea, spinach — it may sound like the ingredients to your juice for breakfast, but they're also the star power antioxidant-rich players in this cleanser. "It's low-foaming so it doesn't strip away the natural moisture in your skin, yet it keeps your pores so healthy and clean," she says.

Amanda Lacey Cleansing Pomade
"This is one of the first brands I knew I wanted to sell when I started Shen Beauty seven years ago. If you can't receive one of her luxe facials, this cleansing pomade that you can use at home is the next best thing. Use it on dry skin to remove all your makeup — massage in circular motions to invigorate your skin like they do in the spa." Thanks to a natural palm wax called calendula oil, it soothes and softens skin with gentle-as-can-be exfoliation.
