The slim slightly 70s flared leg trousers from Phillip Lim’s fall collection reminded me of similar pants I adored from a recent fall Burberry Prorsum collection. I love the look of a long and lean clean trouser, and Phillip Lim’s pairing of such a plain pant with a sequin long sleeve tunic is the perfect match.

I'm not sure I could ever be as cool as William Rast's girl this fall however that doesn't mean I can't dream!
This look is a perfect layering mix as it includes the military jacket that is becoming a wardrobe staple regardless of the season, topped with a classic grey wool pea coat and a slim cropped leather pant. The addition of a rugged lace up boot and trapper hat make her super cool.

Proenza Schouler’s prep-school influenced collection is destined for the coolest kids in school. The designers added zing to high school basics — letter man and varsity jackets, pleated skirts, toggle coats and skinny jeans with graffiti and graphic prints, fur and pops of neon and brights. I love the jeans from this look and was pleased to hear the designers collaborated with one of my favorite denim lines, J.Brand.

Luxury Military is a major trend for Fall 2010 — classic regimental military and utility coats dressed up with lu accessories and a little sparkle. Though my favorite reference from the season came from last week's Burberry Prorsum show, Tibi offered plenty of sparkle and shine with its military styling. I love the subtle gold sparkle under this classic wool coat topped with a rugged utilitarian leather pouch belt.

Many editors cite this collection as one of their favorties for the week, and I agree. The layering mix of fall wardrobe stables was the perfect recipe for a cold-weather look. I especially love how this particular look played with proportions and can essentially be replicated by what many of us have in our closets. The cropped cardigan, over a long flannel shirt with a lu fabric pleated skirt topped with a tightly wound scarf and toughened up with chunky boots is a perfect look for fall.

Marc’s fall collection took my breath away and after seeing the collection up close at an appointment after the show, my adoration for the collection was only further solidified. The feminine, soft and beautiful screamed simplicity yet the details were exceptional. This simple button down dress was tweaked with the perfect application of a crystal beaded bow for a subtle shine. The collection was like a breath of lovely, clean fresh air amid a week of collections that often feel like they are trying just a bit too hard to be cool.

Scott Sternberg's models looked like they hopped off the bus from camping in upstate New York straight to the Upper East Side. The preppy looks had an outdoorsy feel with a zing. This look combines three of my favorite wardrobe staples — a colorful bandage mini skirt, classic stripe crew neck knit and military influenced piece of outerwear.

Isaac's talent is diverse, but I love the American designer for his amazing party dresses that remind me of the unstoppable models of the 90s. This silver sparkler doesn't reference trends or try to reinvent the wheel, it's a perfect example of what the designer does best, a killer party dress. I can only hope for the proper event and opportunity to rock one of the designer's leggy sparklers like this one.

Erin Fetherston claims to be "dress obsessed" as do I. And although I love a mini, I also love the beauty of an elongated silhouette and her Fall collection offered plenty of longer dresses with a slightly 70s feel. There is something effortlessly chic about this long black dress. Layered with gold necklaces it could be worn with sandals on the beach or with platforms for a glamourous night out.
