The athletes who are currently competing in Rio got ready for the 2016 Olympics by training. We get ready to tune in to the competition by making sure our beauty looks are patriotically on point. We already showed you how to show some #TeamUSA spirit with super pretty nail art ideas, so now it’s time to talk hair and makeup. 1/14What better way to watch the 2016 Rio Olympics than with one of these patriotic hairstyles or makeup moments? Don’t forget to take a selfie, BTW.
2/14We’ll begin with this crazy tapestry braid, featuring tricolor ribbons and an American flag bow. Try it if you have the requisite hair skills — and length!
3/14Don’t feel up to attempting anything quite so intricate? No problem. This pared-down version nixes the braids and just keeps the hair bow. Arrange your hair in loose curls to pull it all together.
4/14You can also mix reds and blues into your actual hair. The temporary (or permanent!) dye route is always an option, but this look uses extensions to create a patriotic effect.

11/14Now it’s time to talk about looks that have a patriotic touch, but are subtle enough to wear out. We love this gorgeous, burgundy smokey eye that seamlessly melts into navy eyeshadow at the outer corners. So pretty!
