The 12 Biggest Pop Culture Moments from 2014
Oh 2014, how we loved you so! Between Ansel Elgort and his very serious burrito-eating business, and the collective internet freakout when Harry and Emma had a frame-worthy interaction on stage, it's been quite the year. And that's just the beginning.
Pharrell's hat! Alex from Target! Here are the biggest pop culture moments of 2014.

TFIOS Madness
The Fault in Our Stars basically took over our entire lives when it hit the big screen this year (we went through, like, 40 bos of tissues), but someone went just a little too far with the fandom and stole the famous Amsterdam bench. Thankfully it reappeared and is safe and sound OG home. Our Amsterdam coin jar fund is growing on the daily so we can see that thing IRL.

#AleromTarget
All you’ve gotta do is look cute and run the register at Target, and boom! Internet gold. #AleromTarget won over our hearts the moment he started trending, and our Target trips in search of an #AleromTarget of our very own got a liiitle out of hand.

Kendall Makes Her Runway Debut
Remember when Kendall was just a reality star, and not a top model? It feels like ages ago. Girl did her thing on the Marc Jacobs runway with a blunt bob, nude makeup, and bleached brows. And nailed it.

Hello Kitty Is a Girl and Not a Cat
Wait, what? Hello Kitty isn’t a kitty? Apparently everything we ever believed in was a lie, and Hello Kitty is actually a British girl named Kitty White. Mind. Blown. In other news, Hello Kitty turned 40 this year! So we guess maybe that makes her more of a cat than a kitten.

Ansel’s Chipotle Obsession
The only thing we love more than Chipotle is Ansel Elgort loving Chipotle. And Ansel doesn’t just love Chipotle, he respects it and expects you to respect it. Which means if he’s mid-bite into his glorious burrito, don’t you dare interrupt him unless you’ve got a good reason.

T.Swift Releases 1989 and It. Is. Amazing.
Around Teen Vogue HQ, we’re not even mad that Taylor Swift’s 1989 album isn’t on Spotify. That’s how much we love it. It’s basically the best thing we’ve ever heard, and if we’re being really honest, we’re not sure anything will ever be able to top it. "Shake It Off"? Instant classic.

The Oscar Selfie
Thank you, Ellen DeGeneres, for taking the selfie of all selfies. We can hardly even remember who all was in it because there were so many amazing celebs (J.Law! Bradley! Lupita!) and that's how you know you've got a piece of internet gold. We're pretty sure this needs to become an annual thing. You reading this, DeGeneres?

Emma Watson + Harry Styles On Stage
When Harry Styles (swoon x infinity!) presented Emma Watson with the British Style Award at the 2014 British Fashion Awards, the entire world melted into a collective puddle of wishing and hoping Harry + Emma would become a thing. Except for those of us who want to save Harry for ourselves, of course. A girl can dream.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
One of the coolest things in 2014 was watching the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge take over the internet and raise an insane amount of money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. And when Ansel Elgort, Liam Hemsworth, and a ton of other celebs got in on the action? Paying it forward has never looked so good. (And cold.)

Seth Cohen Marries Blair Waldorf
We knew the day Adam Brody gets married would eventually come, and if it weren’t for him marrying Leighton Meester in what we’re calling the ultimate teen dream wedding, we’d be (not-so) secretly heartbroken. But The O.C. + Gossip Girl? That’s too good. A match made in TV heaven.

J.Law Face-Palms Emma Watson
We never really had any doubts about wanting to be BFFs with Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson, but after J.Law face-palmed Hermione pre-Christian Dior Paris haute Couture show and Emma’s response was to straight-up embrace it? We were sold.
