BTS Mini Doll Duos to Buy, According to Your Zodiac Sign
The holidays are around the corner, and whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for the ARMY in your life or a treat for yourself, BTS x Mattel’s new mini figurines are a safe bet. If you had mixed feelings about the original dolls, or simply aren’t into traditional fashion dolls, Mattel’s new cartoon pop toys might be right up your alley.
The toy company unveiled the adorably cute figurines back in October. Since then, a giant version of the tiny dolls has been on display at the band’s ongoing pop-up shop, House of BTS, in Seoul but if you want to take your own home, you’ll soon be able to buy 'em online.
Donning outfits inspired by the “Idol” music video, the 3-inch tall mini figures are sold separately and, at $9.99 each, getting the OT7 line up we all deserve might break the bank, but getting your ultimate bias only might just not be enough. That’s why we’ve matched the best BTS duos to their zodiac equivalents. Trust the stars and get your zodiac-chosen pair — that is, if you do resist the urge to just get them all!
1/12Aries (March 21 - April 19): Jikook
As the first sign of the Zodiac, Aries are commonly referred to as the baby of the signs. Two members of BTS’s maknae (youngest) line, Park Jimin and Jeon Jungkook, known affectionately by fans as Jikook when together, often take on childlike, youthful roles.
Heartwarming displays of friendship and affectionate touches are very characteristic of their relationship. Jikook’s friendship is on full display in Golden Closet Film videos, a series of travel vlogs that Jungkook films and edits.
2/12Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Namgi
Tauruses are often characterized by their dogged determination, stability, and practicality. Kim Namjoon and Min Yoongi, whose stage names are RM and Suga respectively, were the first two members of BTS. Of all the members, the two of them, whose friendship is referred to by fans as Namgi, spent the longest time as idol trainees, so in the early days before debut, the two of them presumably had strong faith in the idea of BTS as a group.
Once an underdog group in the K pop industry, BTS performs a lot of songs about the group’s perseverance in spite of the doubt and hate cast by naysayers. As two parts of the group’s three-member rap line, Namgi are credited for writing some of ARMY’s favorite verses about determination and overcoming obstacles.
3/12Gemini (May 21 - June 20): OT7
If there’s a general consensus when it comes to the Zodiac, it's that Geminis are the most hated on sign of all. Often dubbed two-faced, the air sign gets a bad reputation among its counterparts, but in the Bangtan world, we can cut them some slack. Why you might ask? Because one of the most special dates for ARMYs happens precisely during Gemini season: BTS’s birthday.
Celebrated every year with BTS Festa, June 13 marks the anniversary of BTS’s debut back in 2013. It’s a date every ARMY should mark on their calendars, and the occasion calls for an exception and an OT7 celebration.
4/12Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Vmin
Known to be perceptive and sensitive to their surroundings, Cancers are thought of as compassionate and gentle. The BTS ARMY loves the friendship between Park Jimin and Kim Taehyung, otherwise known as V, because of how compassionate and supportive they are of one another.
The two of them, together called Vmin, are only a few months apart in age, so in addition to being idol trainees together, they were also classmates at school. Both of them often speak tenderly about their best friendship and show support for their solo projects.
5/12Leo (July 23 - August 22): Taejin
The fifth sign of the zodiac, Leos are known for their fiery personalities. Represented by a lion, Leos love being the center of attention and often exude a strong magnetism. So it’s no surprise worldwide handsome Jin and the Kim Taehyung, a duo often referred to as Taejin, would be the perfect pairing for the fire sign.
Individually, Jin and V’s on-stage presence is no joke but, as a pair, it never fails to take center stage — as perfectly demonstrated during “Pied Piper” at the group’s most recent Muster. They might both be born in December, but they bring the Leo heat.
6/12Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Namkook
Virgos are notorious for their work ethic and perfectionist nature — so who better to represent the earth sign than BTS’s very own resident Virgos, leader RM and golden maknae Jungkook?
Whether through his UN speech or emotional ending ments, Namjoon’s commitment and attention to detail always shine through — a trait JK definitely shares. The youngest is known among members for waking up early to practice and always going the extra mile in the group’s performances. It’s no secret Jungkook turned down offers from other well-established entertainment companies to join then-underdog BigHit precisely because of RM — making Namkook the indisputably perfect pair for Virgo.
7/12Libra (September 23 - October 22): Jinmin
Libra’s ruling planet is Venus, the planet of love and beauty. So it makes perfect sense that Libra should choose Kim Seokjin, aka Mr. Worldwide Handsome, and BTS’ self-proclaimed "cutie, sexy, lovely", Park Jimin. According to Garage, Libras use their empathy to accommodate what the people around them need at the moment.
With eldest member Jin, whether it is showing affection and consideration to the other members and staff by feeding them or releasing a song he wrote about his pets, he is always showing his warm heart. Jimin, a Libra himself, is known among his group members and his fans for being an affectionate and compassionate friend. At his concert in Brazil, he confessed to everyone that seeing his fans singing along with him brought him to tears. Both Jin and Jimin are also very active on Twitter, VLive, and Weverse, so it can be assumed that they love reading meaningful fan interactions.
8/12Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Yoonmin
Despite being ruled by water, Scorpios are often mistaken for a fire sign for their quietly intense and powerful energy. Passionate, assertive and reserved — at least at first — Scorpios care about “depth, not appearances” making Yoonmin — one of BTS’s most adorable, chaotic and bickering duos — the perfect pair for the sign.
Both Jimin and Yoongi have also shown they care about their fellow members’ well being regularly, whether through meaningful chats or small acts of kindness.
9/12Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): 2Seok
Sagittarius is famous for energy, bluntness, and sense of humor. According to Allure, Sagittarians are not only “excellent storytellers” but also “the comedians of the zodiac” — so it’d make sense that Kim Seokjin, the only representative of the archer sign in the Bangtan Boys, would suit this description perfectly.
Known for his "ajae gaegu" — the Korean term for dad jokes — you can bet Jin’s puns would steal any show. Throw the charisma of Jung Hoseok (a.k.a J-Hope) into the equation and the laughs are never-ending. 2Seok’s infectiously chaotic energy is the perfect mix for Sagittarius.
10/12Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Taekook
Capricorns are ambitious, determined, competitive and hard-working. This description can be applied perfectly to both Taehyung, BTS’s only Capricorn, and Jungkook. But the pair, known affectionately as Taekook, take it to a whole new level when together.
When BTS plays games and Tae and Kookie just so happen to be in the same team, the other members’ chances of winning are slim to none. Whether it's guessing games or video games, the pair is seriously skilled, and, even beyond competitions, their symbiosis is undeniable — I mean, they even have their own intricate secret handshake.
11/12Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Namseok
Though friendly and strong, Aquarians are also known for their strictness. As the choreo leader and only Aquarius representative in the group, J-Hope can attest to this. According to Allure, Aquarians “enjoy participating in communities of like-minded individuals” — and J-Hope’s collab with Becky G, “Chicken Noodle Soup,” is perhaps the perfect proof.
Aquarians also live for loyalty and teamwork so, as the sun and moon of BTS, it’s no surprise 94-liners J-Hope and RM would make the perfect combo. Plus, it’s not a coincidence the blue hair-do on RM’s figurine matches the water-bearer sign perfectly.
12/12Pisces (February 19 - March 20): SOPE
Intelligence, selflessness, duality and reliability are all synonyms with Pisces — so it’s no wonder all these would apply perfectly to Suga, BTS’s only Pisces. The water sign is represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions, symbolizing “the constant division of Pisces's attention between fantasy and reality” — and that sure sounds a lot like SOPE to us.
Suga and J-Hope’s seemingly opposing personalities make for one of the most iconic pairings on BTS. Whether sharing a sheet-mask session on VLIVE or crushing it on stage together — 2018 MAMAs “Airplane pt.2” anyone? — their energies and personalities complement each other perfectly and shine even brighter when combined.
