Year in Review: A Look Back at All of the Celeb Hair Colors We Saw (and Loved!) in 2014
2014 was the year of bold hair ideas. From shaved heads to hair tattoos—yes, that happened—we've seen it all this year.
But the biggest trend of the year by far (and one of our faves!), has been the experimentation with hair color.
Sure, ombré, platinum, and baby lights were a hit, but we're giving props to the beauty brave hearts who went for unexpected hues we didn't know it was possible to pull off. And not only did celebs pull these cool colors off, they owned them in the chicest ways possible.
We might still be recovering from the whiplash brought on by way of this year's hair color craze, but lucky for you, we're including them in one comprehensive slideshow for you to admire—and maybe even be inspired by.

Redheads: Nothing new there, right? Wrong! In 2014, celebs took the blazing hue to new heights. From red-dipped tips to scarlet streaks to allover crimson, this was one red-hot year.

Kesha proved to be quite the hair-color chameleon this year, so it’s no surprise that the "Timber" singer rocked one shade no other star dared to try—yellow! Not a huge change from her usual blonde ’do, the surprising shade actually worked!

Another unexpected yet wildly popular color trend this season was green. Some went all for it while others just used the shade as an accent color throughout their hair. And guess what—somehow, both options made us green with envy!

From pastels to electric hues, this fun hair color showed us the sky (blue) is the limit when it comes to hair experimentation.

Who knew turquoise could be such a classy color? All it took was a touch on the tips of jet black bobs and voila! Two edgy-chic crops in an instant.

Looks like Tinseltown caught violet fever in 2014. Paired with blues and grays, it took the cake as the softest, prettiest, most feminine hair color trend by far.

We can’t forget the other major color trends we saw in Hollywood this year: the surprisingly glowing grays, the elegant pink, and of course, marsala. Yep, the color of 2015 is the perfect inspiration for January 1.
