How To Make A Chain Collar Shirt
1/7Place And Secure Chain
Begin by threading the needle and knotting the back end. Place the end of the chain at the top of the collar, and sew a few stitches wrapping around the first chain link and through the collar.
2/7What You Need
-Collared shirt
-3 feet of gold chain
-Needle and thread
-Wire cutters
3/7Sew Chain
Lay the chain along the collar, about a quarter inch from the edge. Sew along the center of the chain passing the needle down into one link and through the back of the fabric, and then up again three or four links later.
4/7Sew Around Pocket
Repeat this sewing technique around the chest pocket, being sure to stitch at the corners. Be careful not to sew the pocket shut when you add chain across the top opening.
5/7Cut Chain
When you complete sewing the chain around the collar, sew a few extra stitches around the last link to be sure its held in place. Cut the next link with the wire cutters to remove the excess chain.
6/7Create Sharp Corner
When you get to the tip of the collar, be sure to stitch through the link right before you make the turn to create a sharp corner.
