Chanel Cruise 2013: Backstage Beauty

The makeup at the Chanel Cruise 2012/2013 runway show, held in the Versailles gardens in France, was dreamed up by Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup. He used a blend of the brand's staple products and a few new items from the Versailles de Chanel Collection, which will be out in December. You'll have to wait to snag the limited edition Ombre Essentielle eyeshadow in Rose Favorite and the Mouche de Beaute highlighting powder, but you can shop the rest of the makeup right now!

"I used Ombre Essentielle in Rose Favorite on the eyelids and Joues Contraste in Rose Pétale as a blusher," explains Philips. "I kept the skin natural to prevent the makeup from looking historical. I created the soft, pinkish lips by applying Rouge Coco Shine in Evasion and I topped the makeup off by placing a black velvet Chanel logo as a beauty spot on either the left or right side of the face, high on the cheekbones. At the last minute, I added a subtle highlight with Mouche de Beauté, a compact highlight powder. The eyeshadow, highlight powder, and velvet CC's were created especially for this show."
