Christian Combs Wears Dolce & Gabbana to Met Gala 2018
From the Dolce & Gabbana runway to the red carpet, rapper and IMG model, Christian Combs, has become one of the iconic label's freshest new faces over the past year. So far, the 20-year-old has flexed his talents in D&G's Spring 2018 campaign and two of the brand's Milan fashion shows, all while his famous father and music mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs watched from the front row. Having launched his modeling career with the brand, it only seems right that for Christian's first-ever Met Gala, he once again fastened the brand's cufflinks, adjusted his signature crown, and displayed what true hip-hop royalty looks like.
As the son of one of music's most notable entertainers and lavish party host, Combs is no stranger to dressing up for super lavish events. His Met Gala look combined his love for luxury and casual streetwear. "I love to feel comfortable for red carpet events," said Christian. "I personally like streetwear and everyone needs a pop of color. I’m also not afraid of accessories as that can help elevate your outfit."
Coincidentally, Christian didn't need to do much accessorizing with this look. The gold-embroidered Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria couture suit made enough of a stylish statement on its own that the only fitting addition was a crown. "I fell in love with the detailing and the accessories like the crown," said Combs. "They made me feel like a King at the Met Gala. It’s like going to the biggest prom in fashion." Kathryn Page1/6At just 20-years-old, Christian is already a pro at formal dressing. "Everyone young man needs a good jacket, watch and eyewear," said Christian. "For formal dressing, I like to keep [it] clean with a slim cut design."

Kathryn Page3/6Christian's fashion is heavily inspired by his dad's personal style including his signature sweatsuits. "One [fashion trend] I like the most is a nice sweat suit," said Christian. "I’m thinking a classic baby blue velour track suit by Sean John. That’s so fire with a basketball headband."

Kathryn Page5/6The team at Dolce & Gabbana helped Christian combine his vision at the event's theme. "They really took the time to hand make every part of my look for the Met Gala. For me, it was special as it was especially made for me and the theme."
Kathryn Page6/6Dolce & Gabbana personally invited Christian as their guest for fashion prom and he was excited to accept. "I truly love their designs as they are colorful, and have the royal theme for their last few collections," said Christian.
