Today marks National Doughnut Day, and obviously it's time to celebrate.
Doughnuts have been around in the U.S. for centuries, popping up in Native American settlements and early Dutch colonies alike. And here's a fun fact: The first documented "modern-day" doughnut was actually created by a woman, Elizabeth Gregory, in the mid-1800s as a treat for her son. Talk about girl power!
