The Glowing Complexion
"We could have done anything in the beauty department considering Debby was wearing black and white, but in the end, we decided to create a makeup look that had vintage elements with modern textures," explains artist Andre Sarmiento. "We prepped her skin using a mix of Epicuren Aloe Vera Calming Gel and Neutrogena Naturals Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer. This really gave us a great base to work with. Then I applied a light layer of M.A.C. Face and Body Foundation, dusting with a little Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder through the T-Zone. I also added a bit of Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage under the eyes to soften any shadows. I sculpted the cheeks using Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer, then softened the contour with Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Pink Explosion, adding Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow in Candlelight on the cheekbones."

The Mod Eye
"On the eyes, we wanted something retro, so I created a custom lash using a mix of short and medium individuals, then cut up a set called ’Siren’ by House of Lashes. I made sure to cover the top in several coats of Chanel Le Volume Mascara, but for the bottom, I opted for a waterproof formula by Maybelline. Then, I defined her crease using Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Tough as Taupe."

Precise Line
"After all that was done, I added a black winged line using Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Liquid Liner in Basic Black. Finally, the lips were a total nod to mod—a pale pink gloss. I applied a layer of NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight, then topped it off with Triple X, their clear gloss."

Updo How-To
"Debby’s jumpsuit had this amazing open back, so I immediately knew the hair had to be up," says her stylist, Bobby Eliot. "It also tied into a great knot, so I decided to mimic that shape in the updo! I prepped by spraying all over using Oribe Foundation Mist, adding a little Oribe Volumista at the roots, then rough drying, focusing on really getting a lot of volume. After it was completely dry, I flat ironed the ends. Next, I created a horseshoe section on the top of the hair, sprayed all over with Oribe Dry Texture Spray, and began to create the knots."

Tie It Up
"I placed the first knot at the nape, then literally just tied knot on top of knot, securing each one with French pins. I repeated the process for the next section, which was just about all the hair above the ears. I intentionally left the ends out to create texture and give a soft finish. On the final top section, I twisted the top to create a pompadour shape and secured it with pins."

Party in the Back
"I tied any remaining hair into knots, adding them to the previous shape in the back, and sprayed all over with Oribe Superfine Hairspray."

The Look
"Debby’s look was inspired by her laid-back, off-duty style," explains her stylist, Chris Horan. "It’s perfectly simple, but carries a big impact!" Shoes, cuffs, and jumpsuit by BCBG Runway. Clutch by Edie Parker.

Off She Goes!
The star poses for one last photo before being whisked off to Teen Choice. "It's an honor to be nominated this year," Debby says. "It's kind of like prom! All my friends will be there—people I've worked with, people I look up to, and more. We all have such crazy schedules, so we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like. It's great to spend an evening together celebrating the fans."
