Copy Demi Lovato's Glamorous Old Hollywood Makeup
Demi Lovato may have been at the VH1 Divas event, but her look was anything but high maintenance. The singer sported a flawless complexion, nude lips, and natural brows. The one element that really popped was her set of long false lashes and eye-emphasizing mascara. It's the perfect makeup to rock for a winter formal or night out with the girls, so follow along as makeup artist Jill Powell explains how she created the easy and elegant look. Remember, the eyes are the focal point of Demi's makeup, so be prepared to put most of your effort into this feature!

"For Demi’s eyes, I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Zero and filled in the entire lid to create my shape," says Powell. "I also used this pencil to line her eyes, coloring in the area between the roots of her lashes, her waterline, and just below her eyes."

"To get richly pigmented lids, I pressed Girlactik Eyeshadow in VIP all over the lids directly on top of the black pencil. I also used this shadow to blend the edges and bring the color into the crease."

"To give Demi a little hint of color, I swept Smashbox Suntan Matte Bronzer along her forehead and under her cheekbones."

"I contoured her face with Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Chestnut and Espresso (which are the deepest shades). The key to contouring is follow the natural contours of your face and determine where you want to accentuate. I suggest you feel your cheekbone feel for the area just below where it naturally depresses. That is where you generally want to place your contour."

"With her dark eyes, I wanted Demi to have the perfect nude lip, so I first used my Beauty blender sponge with the leftover foundation to cancel out any color on her lips. Then, I used MAC Naked Liner to line her lips. To finish off the look, I applied MAC Creme de Nude Lipstick and filled in her whole lip."
