Disney Movie 2017 Lineup

There are a lot of movies to look forward to in 2017, and many of them are coming from a production house you know and love: Disney. From a magical live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast to Thor: Ragnarok, there's bound to be something for everyone before the year is through. (We know it just started, but go with us here.)
Of course, there's also the second installment of Guardians of the Galaxy and the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie to put on your calendars, too. See when each of the new Disney and Pixar films you won't want to miss (hint: it's all of them).

Beauty and the Beast
Release Date: March 17
We don't need to tell you about the live-action remake of the tale as old as time, so let's catch up on what you need to know: Emma Watson will fall in love with a CGI-transfigured Dan Stevens, and it's her love — not her spell-casting — that changes him back. Was that a spoiler? Oops.

Born in China
Release date: April 21
Just in time for Earth Day, we'll go on a journey to meet pandas, golden monkeys, snow leopards, and more in the John Krasinski-narrated documentary.

• Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2*
Release date: May 5
Chris Pratt is back in the superhero role that cemented him as a bona fide movie star. TBH, we're most excited to see baby Groot again.
- 4/8
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Release date: May 26
Get your sea legs ready for the fifth installment of the beloved franchise. Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario join the adventure, which will also feature Javier Bardem and a return appearance from Geoffrey Rush's Captain Barbossa.
- 6/8
Thor: Ragnarok
Release date: November 3
What's Ragnarok, do you ask? Oh, just the total annihilation of Thor's planet Asgard, NBD. Tessa Thompson, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, and Tom Hiddleston will join Chris Hemsworth in the epic battle. We have a feeling Taylor Swift won't make an appearance — but the incredible Hulk will!
- 7/8
Coco
Release date: November 22
Starring an all-Latinx cast, Coco is set in Mexico on Día de los Muertos, a sacred day for many in Latino American countries. We'll meet Miguel, who loves music even though his family forbids it, and is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead.

Star Wars: Episode VIII
Release Date: December 15
We're returning to a galaxy far, far away yet again to join Rey and Finn as they pick up where The Force Awakens picks up. Of course, there are a lot of questions yet to be answered, one of which is exactly how we'll make it through Carrie Fisher's scenes without sobbing uncontrollably.
