Emma Stone at the 2012 Met Gala: Celebrity Beauty Breakdown
Emma Stone's ultra-pretty hair and makeup look had a very girly inspiration. "I paired a classic eye shape with whimsical lashes and transparent red lips for an ult'a-feminine ballerina inspired look," explains Rachel Goodwin, her makeup artist. Emma's hair is swept up into a romantic bun and the sparkling Lanvin clip is the perfect finishing touch. Mara Roszak, the hairstylist who created the look, wanted Emma to look just like a living doll! Here's the scoop on the rest of the Revlon brand ambassador's makeup and hairstyle.

The Makeup
For the face, Goodwin blended a bit of Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup in Vanilla for a natural look that allowed her freckles to come through. Revlon Cream Blush in Rosy Glow gave Emma that healthy ballerina flush. To accentuate her eyes, Goodwin lined her upper lids with a very fine line of Revlon black liquid liner, as well as two coats of Revlon Photo Ready 3D Volume mascara in Black. Her lids were dusted with a subtle later of the Revlon ColorStay 16H Eyeshadow Quad in Goddess and individual lashes on just the outer edges of her eyes gave a retro feel to the look. To keep her eyebrows neatly groomed and in place, Goodwin used Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Blond. For the finishing touch, Emma wore Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart on her lips.

The Hair
All ballerinas need a bun, but Emma's was a flirty and modern take on the classic. Mara Roszak, the hairstylist who created the look, wanted the updo to look almost "doll-like." Recreate her look by following along with Roszak's how-to!
On damp hair, she applied Matrix Total Results Amplify Wonder Boost Root Lifter evenly throughout hair and then blew the strands dry with a medium-sized bore bristle brush. Next, she applied Matrix Design Pulse Mega Dust to the roots for extra texture, volume and hold and gathered the hair at the top of the head in a ponytail, which she secured with an elastic, letting the front and side pieces around the hairline loosely fall out. With a soft brush, Roszak gently teased the roots of the ponytail to add more volume. She then loosely pinned hair into an undone bun shape, crisscrossing bobby pins for extra hold. Now for the final touches! She swooped Emma's bangs across forehead, securing them to the side with a black Lanvin hair accessory, and sprayed the hair with Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray all over for hold and Matrix Biolage Colorcarethérapie Shine Shake Spray for a glossy finish.
