Emma Stone MTV Movie Awards Hair and Makeup: Celebrity Beauty Breakdown

Emma Stone wore a structured black and white dress to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, allowing her bright coral lips be the focal point of her look. The star was presented with the very first Trailblazer Award for achieving so much in her career at just twenty three!

Chanel makeup artist Rachel Goodwin used a mix of Chanel and Revlon products on Stone, a Revlon Brand Ambassador. Goodwin wanted her complexion to look slightly bronzed, without taking away from her bold lip look. For her hair, celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak twisted small sections to create natural curls that she then pinned into a messy bun. "The lip was the focal point of the look," explains Goodwin. "I paired this with a classic eye defined with liquid liner. For skin, I wanted it to look as if Emma had spent a day at the beach—slightly sun-kissed with a flush of color on her cheeks. To capture this, I used a foundation two shades darker than her normal skin tone, adding a touch of cream blush to the apples of cheeks."

"I wanted the style to feel like a twist on a simple updo with strong elements of fun and femininity," says Roszak. The hair was prepped by washing and conditioning with Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo and Conditioner. She added Sebastian Professional Mousse Forte to the damp hair and twisted random sections, pinning them up as she went. Roszak blew the hair dry and took out the pins. Wella Professionals Texture Touch gave the hair a bit if texture so she could twist the hair on either side of the forehead, connecting at the back of the head. She secured the twists in place, criss-crossing the pins to ensure its hold. Roszak teased the hair into a messy bun and finished with Wella Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray.
