Emma Watson Expertly Styles the Coolest (And Most Comfortable) Shoe of the Season

Emma Watson was out and about in New York City the other night and, as always, hit us with a clothing combination worth copying: slouchy boyfriend jeans, a black turtleneck, and loafers. Even better, instead of opting for the most basic version of each style — which would, of course, still make for a fantastic look — her picks all include some sort of subtly special detail. The top has slightly sheer fabric (just enough to show off the texture of a pretty lace bracelet beneath); the denim is covered in cool patches; the shoes cut in an of-the-moment open heel design.
So basically, she’s found a way to make a already good outfit great. You can, too, by reading ahead, where’s we’ve shopped every last covetable piece in the ensemble, and explained exactly how to wear it.

Myth: All patchwork jeans feel boho or grunge-y. For a sleeker, more sophisticated take on the trend, choose a pair with a few contrasting denim panels rather than iron on decals.

A not-quite-opaque knit is a fantastic was to balance the covered up cut of a roll neck pullover. The trick is finding an option that merely suggests what’s beneath, though — you still want to maintain some mystery!

If you’re planning to let a bra show through a tissue thin top, it must not only be pretty to look at, but lay relatively flat (read: No beading or embroidery — it creates awkward looking lumpiness). This lacy little racerback checks both boxes.

When the weather calls for adding outerwear to this mix, an oversized coat with wide lapels works best. All those boyish elements keep the look feeling effortless and relaxed.
