The major fishtail braids at Tory Burch were purposely teased for a voluminous look. The hair was parted down the middle and separated into two sections. One braid was laid over the models shoulder, displayed facing front, while the other hung down the model's back.

The four-handed fishtail braids created at VPL were topped off with black head straps that give the overall look a futuristic feel. To give the hairstyle sleekness, lead hairstylist Bob Recine added a healthy dose of PHYTO Professional Workable Holding Hairspray to each finished braid.

The fishtails at Bibhu Mohapatra were twisted into neat oval-shaped buns that L'Oréal Professionnel portfolio artist Amit Abraham describes as symbolic of the rebirth of springtime. The shape of the braided bun is supposed to look like a cocoon and the graphic prints of the clothing represent beautiful butterfly wings.
