When and why did you first decide to start your blog? I went for a jog and the idea just came to me. I was looking for a way to voice my passions in life. I figured, what the heck, I’ll try this blogging thing and see where it takes me. Today, MizzFIT.com is all about helping women achieve self-confidence through fitness.
What is your fitness philosophy? My YouTube. video series, Style Up 2 Shape Up, is all about fusing fitness trends and fashion to get women excited about working out and leading a healthy lifestyle. When we style up in flattering clothes that make us feel confident, we can let go of fears or insecurities we’re harboring about the gym or our bodies and actually have fun. When we’re having fun and feeling great, we form a positive bond with our workout and want to keep doing it. It’s very empowering.

What’s your typical fitness routine? My workout is different every week. When you keep your body guessing and moving in different ways, that’s when you’re really working your muscles. Your body doesn’t learn to change unless you teach it new things. My favorite workouts are kickboxing, power yoga, circuit strength training, and long distance running. I always try and fit these into my weekly workouts, but never in the same order. I always find a way to keep the workout new, different, and challenging.
How many days a week do you work out? I work out every day. I make sure to alternate between hard, kick-your-butt workouts and more restorative ones like yoga or pilates. Even if I’m traveling or have a super hectic day of work, I always find the time to take the stairs or go for a twenty-minute power walk. As long as you’re moving and your body and mind are aligned in the activity, that’s a workout. It doesn’t matter if you spent an hour or fifteen minutes. All that matters is that you were present and committed to it.

Where do you get ideas or inspiration for your posts? My posts cover current and emerging trends in the fitness world. I also like to write about inspirational women who can be role models for my readers. When I’m not writing about the women that inspire me, I like to translate everyday fashion that I see on the streets of New York into fitness fashion that women can use to get excited about going to the gym.
Do you have any advice for teens interested in starting their own blogs?( Write about what you love and never tire of. Don’t be afraid to show who you are because your readers will love you for it. When you’re proud of yourself, the universe responds with good vibes.

What's the best way to get in shape for the summer? Get outside! Fresh air and nature can really take your workout to the next level. It's a great way to get creative with your workout.
What are the best foods to eat before a workout? A protein bar, fresh cut veggies like carrots, broccoli, and celery, or an apple are all great pre-workout snacks!
