Four Chinese Models to Walk in VS Show 2016
While there is yet to be an Asian Victoria’s Secret Angel, this year’s show will be the first time a total of four models included in the VS squad will be of Chinese descent. This milestone for Victoria’s Secret proves that we still have a ways to go before becoming truly inclusive. Baby steps as they may be, the push to become more diverse is noticeable, and it’s time we got to know the four gorgeous girls who are making history for the brand. Liu Wen, Ming Xi, Sui He, and Xiao Wen Ju will all participate in the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Wednesday but, before they do, here’s what you need to know about them.

After a four-year hiatus from the show, Liu Wen will walk in her fourth Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year. When she first walked the VS runway, she was the only Asian model ever to do so.

Ming Xi has already walked in the past three shows for Victoria’s Secret, regularly modeling during the section of the spectacular that showcases the brand’s little sister line, PINK.

Sui He is no stranger to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The model has walked in the show five times already, beginning in 2011. When she first stepped on the stage, she was only the second Asian model for the brand (after Liu Wen).

While this will be her premiere walk on the Victoria’s Secret runway, Xiao Wen Ju has helped other brands break racial barriers before this one. She's fronted numerous ad campaigns and walked some of the top runways, and she was also the first-ever Chinese model to be the face of Marc Jacobs.
