Google's Top 2016 Fashion Trends: Bomber Jackets, Jumpsuits, Off-the-Shoulder Tops
Trends come and go so quickly sometimes it's impossible to keep track of them. That's exactly why the researchers at Google put together a comprehensive report on the top fashion trends of 2016, and who was wearing them. It comes as no surprise that stars like Gigi Hadid, Kanye West, Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner were amongst the trendsetters but other names include actress Kate Hudson. And of course, some of our favorite looks made the list from the ever-popular, off-the-shoulder dress to the ubiquitous bomber jacket. Thanks to searches on top models like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, bomber jackets are the number one trending wardrobe item for 2016. According to the report: "in April, searches for bomber jackets grew 297% YoY in the U.K. and 612% YoY in the U.S.4." Google also mentions that there was an uptick in the styles of bomber jackets people searched for. They said, "people looked for more spring-ready colors and materials like satin, silk, pink, florals, and embroidery."
This comes as no surprise as we've seen stars like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Ariana Grande take the trend to a whole new level over the last year.

Along with being an amazing first lady, an advocate for education, and the coolest mom to Sasha and Malia, Michelle Obama has long been a fashion trendsetter. According to their research, Mrs. Obama is one of the top searched names alongside the popular wardrobe trend: off-the-shoulder tops. "The off-the-shoulder look has grown in both markets from December 2015 to May 2016—261% in the U.K. and 347% in the U.S. [...] Search data shows that celebrities from Michelle Obama to Kendall Jenner helped popularize the look."
Worn dressy like Michelle or casual with jeans like Kendall Jenner, we love the off-the-shoulder look for it's ease and versatility.

Let's be real: no one rocks a jumpsuit on the red carpet like Taylor Swift and clearly, everyone agrees. This year, jumpsuits and rompers are the third most searched trend alongside Taylor's name. The report states: "Jumpsuits, rompers (called playsuits in the U.K.), two-piece dresses, and co-ords are all one-stop styles on the rise."
The one-stop-shop style of jumpsuits and rompers makes them an obvious go-to. From all denim and daring, to relaxed and casual, jumpsuits are the ultimate fashion statement.
