The Teen Vogue cover girl double majored in neuroscience and philosophy in college, and is set to tour with Florence + the Machine this summer — so it’s no surprise fellow visionaries are drawn to her (cool attracts cool, don’t you know?). James is more than just Grimes’s boyfriend — he’s a musician who’s played in groups Default Genders and Elite Gymnastics. He makes a few rare cameos on his girlfriend’s feed, but they really shine when they work together. They even filmed a music video for musician (and mutual friend) HANA’s new track.

Whether you know him by BloodPop, Blood Diamonds, or the name rings no bells at all, it’s likely you’ve heard Diamond’s work. The DJ and producer has worked on hits like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Grimes’s “Go” (which he also co-wrote), and has collaborated with everyone from Skrillex to Madonna. Not bad, huh?

This Atlanta-born musician and Grimes became friends when they were the opening acts for Lana Del Rey’s Endless Summer Tour. Grimes and her boyfriend James even made a video for one of her singles while on tour. If that’s not friendship #goals, we don’t know what is.

Nicole and Grimes have a lot in common: They’re both Canadian, they’re both really into Tumblr, and they both make amazing music — not to mention, they both know how to do a spot-on cat-eye.
