8 Unexpected (and Totally Genius) Ways To Use Hairspray
While the styles it's used to holding in place may have changed from pin-up curls in the '50s to present day undone waves, hairspray has always been a beauty staple. And, while the hair care aisle has expanded to include things like dry texturizing sprays, root-boosting mousses, and shine serums, hairspray still holds an important place on our bureau. But it turns out there are more uses for the mist than keeping your updo in place. Sure, it’s not going to do your laundry for you or remind you to call your mom, but it can help you study and keep your mermaid hair intact, so really, what more could you ask for?
1/8Seal In Hair Chalk
If you find temporary hair chalks are fading fast or rubbing off on your clothes, style your hair and color away as usual, then seal in the rainbow goodness with a generous misting of hairspray. The chalk will still wash away in the shower, but won't fall out while you go about your day.
2/8Give Your Bobby Pins Extra Grip
To give a knotted updo or twisty braid style more hold without that stiff, perfect finish that hairspray leaves behind, douse your bobby pins with your spray of choice, and use them to help anchor your undone look in place.
