"Always use the flat nozzle that comes with your blow dryer. It will focus the heat just where you want it to go, so that you spend less time heating your hair," Miller says. It is also important to focus the heat away from your scalp, towards the ends of your hair. "Blow drying toward the scalp will open the cuticle and leave you damaged, flat, and brittle hair," he notes.
