7 Ways the Original Wildcats Could Return to High School Musical 4
WILDCATS EVERYWHERE, wave your hands up in the air! We’re still jumping for joy over the announcement that High School Musical 4 is officially happening. As we learned yesterday, the fourth installment of the HSM franchise will focus around brand new characters and the producers are currently looking for actors to play the five main roles. A quick refresher: Erin is the soccer player, Derek is the bad boy with a softer side, Campbell is Sharpay and Ryan’s cousin, Nathalie is the cheerleader, and Tamara is the ousted former queen bee. ALTHOUGH WE’RE excited to meet these new East High students, we haven’t entirely given up hope that we might see some familiar faces…or at least learn about what they’ve been up to since graduation. There’s no way we could start something new without wrapping up the old, right? Here are 6 things that could happen in High School Musical 4:
1/7Kelsi is probably an award-winning composer.
Kelsi was essentially a child prodigy, and undoubtedly was one of those kids who could play the piano before she could put together full sentences. She composed an entire musical when she was only in high school, and as we learned at the end of HSM3, she was off to Julliard on a scholarship. We would bet real money that she’s played at Lincoln Center by now.
2/7Hopefully, Sharpay is now Ms. Darbus’ drama assistant...or maybe the new drama teacher.
If there’s anything we know about Sharpay, it’s that she’s a born leader. Okay, she would rule with fear, but still — she’d be a powerful authoritarian. The one thing Sharpay likes better than being the star is being in charge. We wouldn’t be surprised if she was back at East High and commanding the drama department with a (sparkly) iron fist.
3/7Zeke is a contestant on MasterChef.
Let’s be real: most teenagers don’t even know what crème brûlée is, let alone be able to bake one. Zeke’s passion for baking was one of the best parts of the original High School Musical, and even though he ended up dumping an entire cake on Sharpay’s outfit, he was still able to win her over with his charm and sweet personality. After putting up with Sharpay’s rage fits, we think he could definitely handle Gordon Ramsay yelling at him on national television.
4/7We hope at least one of our OG couples are still together.
Troy and Gabriella are still together, right? THEY HAVE TO BE. If we’re being honest, we might even want to see Chad and Taylor get married more than Troy and Gabriella, considering that Chaylor never kissed during any of the movies in the HSM trilogy. Talk about overdue! We’d love to get news that their relationship is still going strong.
5/7Ryan is probably on Broadway...or Dancing With The Stars.
Considering that the new character Campbell is Ryan and Sharpay's cousin, the chances of us hearing what our favorite siblings are up to is pretty strong. We’re assuming that Ryan’s career involves dancing, and that he is still passionately doing those jazz squares. (They are a crowd favorite, after all!)
6/7Troy could come back to help his dad coach...and help those Wildcats get their head in the game.
After watching Troy help his teammates get pumped up in the original HSM, we are convinced that he’s one of the greatest motivators out there. We hope that he makes an appearance to help the new Wildcats get revved up for their soccer games. It sure sounds like they’re going to need some inspirational dance moves, and who better to fuse athletics with choreography than Troy Bolton?
7/7And Gabriella is off somewhere being brilliant.
As one of the smartest students around, it's no secret that Gabriella had a huge future ahead of her. She went off to Stanford to study law — with Troy just a few miles away at UC Berkley — and now, she's no doubt got the career to match. But even if she doesn't return to East High as an teacher, she could return for a special performance night. Even just a cameo in the audience? Come on, Vanessa, please?!
