7 Easy Ways to Wear the Pajama Trend to Prom
- Photographed by Hasse Nielsen1/9
Thanks to designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Alessandro Michele and Alexander Wang, it’s now possible for us to roll out of bed and onto the runway. Taking after legendary Harper’s Bazaar editor Diana Vreeland and French model Loulou de la Falaise, both of whom are credited for starting the sleepwear trend, today’s designers are trading in form-fitting gowns for cozy silk slips and suits.
Pajamas are just another part of the leisure trend that has taken over the fashion industry, along with sportswear and the new sweat suit, spotted at Vetements. The looser and softer the piece, the better. And if you can sleep in it, well that’s a double whammy.
If you want a unique and memorable prom outfit, look no further than the PJ aisle. Leave the glitz to your accessories by pairing pajamas with high heels and loafers. And there’s a secret bonus here: not many people get a chance to wear their prom outfit again, but you can wear your luxe pajamas as often as you’d like. Ahead, some of the cutest sleepwear money can buy.
