Coachella weekend one came and went in a blur. And while people obviously descend on the desert to see concerts on concerts, the two-part fest has also become an unofficial kickoff to summer beauty and fashion moments. Even if you didn’t make it to Indio, chances are you’ve been scrolling through Instagram to see what officially replaced the flower crown this year (it’s chokers, according to a platinum blonde Taylor Swift and everyone else who attended). So, what better way to get all of your summer hair and makeup inspo than by seeing what some of Instagram’s most-followed beauty girls are rocking themselves this festival season? We caught up with Maddi Bragg, [Suede Brooks],(https://www.instagram.com/suedebrooks/?hl=en) and Lauren Giraldo to talk all things from sweat-proof makeup that allows you to head bang sans melting, to how to get tons of people to double tap your pic, and what tech tools they trust.

Maddi Bragg
Maddi’s YouTube channel showcases everything from real talk about self confidence to makeup challenges with the BF (epic), but at 1 million Instagram followers, we’re all dying to know how she nails the shot, every single time. Her icy strands, badass body piercings, and always on-point cat eyes all made appearances at Coachella, but we also picked her brain for her beauty forecast on what’s going to be cool in the coming months:

On her makeup mantra for festival season: “I always keep it natural. I don’t like to go too crazy. I got lash extensions for Coachella, so I don’t have to worry about mascara. It’s so hot out!”
On her mega bold brows: “I always use Anastasia Brow Wiz. I’ve been using it for over a year. I used to use Dipbrow, but I love that Brow Wiz has a spooly.”
On what’s replacing the flower crown: “A lot of jewelry and body chains. Everybody is about the body chain life! I bought four chokers, and I’m also wearing a beaded belt.”
On what’s in her clutch during a concert: “Lip products for sure! I’m obsessed with the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks. My favorite is Pure Hollywood. And I love the Kylie Lip Kit. Dolce K is my favorite. I also keep the Beautyblender Blotterazzi with me at all times.”
On how she gets the perfect shot: “I use the camera on my phone and then edit with VSCOcam. I’ve been trying to go for no-filter recently. If I do [filter], I use A6 and turn the temperature down. I like cooler-toned photos. It shouldn’t be too posed or thought about. I think candids are so cute. Any situation when you can tell the person is having a good time and not faking it. It has to be genuine.”
On who she loves following on the ‘Gram: “I love the Jenners! They’re so famous. I can’t resist. And of course, my friends and other bloggers.”

Suede Brooks
Can we talk about model Suede Brooks’s brows for a sec? If you follow her YouTube channel, chances are you’ve already tried to recreate her super-informative tutorials. At Coachella, she pulled out all the stops with her temporary face tat and choker situation, so we clearly had to ask her exactly what she plans on test-driving this summer. You heard it here first.

On her makeup mantra for festival season: “I like to do my makeup very glowy looking and fresh! I occasionally like to do very thick lashes, though. I also find a lot of makeup inspiration on Tumblr and Instagram. They’re lifesavers!”
On the one feature she plays up at a concert: “I like to wear a lot of glitter. I think glitter is such a fun thing to play around with on your face and body!”
On her melt-proof makeup staple: “Setting spray! I highly suggest this for Coachella because it doesn't make you look sweaty, but it adds a little glow to your skin while sealing in your makeup to stay on all day!”
On what’s replacing the flower crown: “I think fringe jackets/vests are the new flower crown. These pieces are so versatile and can match with several outfits! I'm actually wearing one this year!”
On her post-Coachella skin detox plan: “I like to use face masks! My favorite is from Lush Cosmetics, and it’s called Cupcake. I think these help my skin, because it gets so dirty at the festival.”
On taking an ideal Insta: “My favorite thing to do at events is get the perfect Instagram. My secret is having good lighting and making sure the photo has the right crop. You have to make sure you’re getting the most unique photo possible.”
On her tech lifesaver: “My phone charger and a Polaroid camera! It’s such a cute way to take pics.”
On her no-fail filter: “One of my favorite things to do is use either the pink or purple light leaks on my photos.”
On her fave accounts to follow: “Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters!”

Lauren Giraldo
Lauren Giraldo makes us literally LOL on Vine and YouTube, but she also happens to give seriously good life advice, can belt a tune (listen to this Amy Winehouse cover!), and is a mani/pedi connoisseur. She also counts on contour even at a music fest. We feel you, Lauren.

On one feature she always plays up: “Contouring! I don’t think there is a specific reason, but with all of the sun, it’s good to get a photo with a bomb highlight.”
On keeping her skin flawless, even while she sweats: “Two products to use are a good moisturizer — I like to use the ones that are for oily skin because even though my skin isn’t that oily, I don’t want to look like a shining star — and Clean & Clear oil wipes!”’
On detoxing her skin post-Coachella: “Ahh lots of water, lemon water. It’s also smart to carry a mist with you so you don’t get dehydrated. I like to use the Bobbi Brown Face Mist.”
On her Coachella DIY ‘do: “At a festival like Coachella, I would just throw it up in a bun or high ponytail.”
On her music fest tech lifesavers: “You need to have like 10 Mophie cases on you — chances are you’re going to be at the festival all day, and the last thing you need is your phone dying. Also, the wi-fi is horrible, so if you have some type of device that helps you get service, that is very helpful.”
On how she nails the shot: “I usually take my photos on the regular camera app, then will edit them on VSCOcam and [Instagram](www.instagram.com]! It also depends, because depending on my mood, I’ll use other cool apps like Boomerang if I want to capture a moment behind a still photo.”
