The photography studio where many fashion stories shot in New York City take place. Usually, one lucky little intern is asked to tag along on these shoots to offer a much needed helping hand to stylists directing the shoot. Responsibilities include dressing models, organizing outfits, taking Polaroids, and running errands.

The last name of Russian model Irina who recently shot a story featuring bright silksfor 's offices throughout the work-week. Though most interns keep busy in the closet, once in a while we may stroll by model booker Lara Bonomo's office to scope out the cute boys she is photographing and scouting for upcoming shoots.

Though there is always plenty of conversation and laughs on the job, the fashion closet team often needs a little pick-me-up throughout the day. We rely on Radio Paradise for a constant stream of eclectic music that keeps us pumped up. Occasionally, if James allows, we really rock it out to Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake.

On any given day hundreds of pieces of clothing go in and out of the offices, which means interns must be incredibly organized. Such organization requires accounting for each piece of clothing that enters and exits the closet with invoices, filing lookbooks to their designated spots, and ensuring that all clothing stays on its designated rack. A clean fashion closet is a happy fashion closet!

Many designers do not have their own public relations department, so they depend on the talents of PR firms that have showrooms full of designer brands from which we pull clothing. constantly visits such showrooms as KCD, Simon, Denise Williamson, Keri Levitt, and Blackframe for fresh new designers as well as established, well-known brands.

The must-read for current and aspiring is the industry source for the latest fashion news. If you can't get it delivered, read it online! It's essential to be up-to-date on retail, manufacturing, designing, beauty, accessories, media stories, and the fashion world at large. Who knows, for many talented interns, maybe someday they'll read their own name in the daily publication!

Along with glue sticks, scissors, binder clips, wax machines, sharpies, and double-stick tape, they are just one of the items in the deluge of office supply materials interns rely on daily to make inspiration boards, trend books, and lookbooks. With all the cutting and pasting it sometimes feels like kindergarten, but, of course, cutting out paper dolls dressed in Jill Stuart is actually fun.
