Prom Beauty Inspiration from Jason Wu's Fall 2012 Show
Deciding on your hair and makeup for prom is almost as complicated as choosing what to wear. The look should complement your dress, but it also needs to stay put all night long. Famed French hairstylist Odile Gilbert of Kérastase Paris and backstage veteran Diane Kendal of MAC Cosmetics worked their magic at Jason Wu's Fall 2012 show, and we think the look they created is perfect for prom. It's sleek, chic, and worry-free—you'll be able to freely dance the night away! Here's how to make it happen at home.

The hair
First, prep your hair with Kérastase Fibre Architecte to restore damaged lengths and split ends as well as provide polish and shine. Next, use a flat iron to straighten and lengthen your hair. Gather your hair into a sleek, high ponytail, and then wrap a strip of black leather (or pleather) around the top of the ponytail to conceal the band. Run the flat iron through the ponytail once again and finish with Kérastase Double Force Controle Ultime Hairspray for all-over hold and a slick, polished look.

The makeup
Diane Kendal used all MAC Cosmetics products on the models to create a strong, "warrior woman" eye. To hydrate and prepare your skin, use Prep + Prime Moisture Infusion. Lightly blend Matchmaster Foundation SPF 15 into your skin to create an even canvas and apply Studio Finish SPF 15 Concealer only where needed. Next, blend Pro Sculpt Sculpting Powder Pro Palette with Powder Blush in Cubic to contour your cheeks, and brush Sheertone Powder Blush in Pink Swoon over just the apples to highlight.
To start the dramatic eye, create a mixture of Chromographic Pencils in Pro Marine Ultra and Landscape Green, and smudge it into the upper lashline and upwards into the crease. Then sweep a blend of Pro Pignment in Kelly Green and Eye Shadow in Club over the shape of your eye to add texture and dimension. Next, use Eye Kohl in Minted to create a highlighting effect near the crease of your eye. To extend and accentuate the look of your eye, sketch Eye Kohl in Blooz into your lashline and delicately apply Crème Liner in Black. Apply Haute & Naughty Mascara in Black to the upper lashes only. Finally, use Lip Conditioner SPF 15 to hydrate and give your lips a natural shine. If you want go for the entire runway beauty look, paint your nails with the caramel shade used in the show, OPI Nail Lacquer in San Tan-tonio.
