What's Baby Daddy about?
"My character, Ben, lives with his older brother and best friend in Manhattan. Ben's a bartender, and he dates girls and parties like normal young men. Then, a baby shows up at his doorstep! She's his three-month-old baby girl, Emma, and he had no idea that she existed. He had a fling with this girl named Angela and hadn't talked to her in a year, and then she drops the baby off because she can't take care of her. So Ben, his brother, and his best friend raise the little girl."
The show takes a dramatic subject matter and turns it into a comedy. How do you make that work?
"I think it's awesome because it's only funny if it's set up properly and if the characters have the right structure. That's exactly what Ben has. He has a mom that doesn't work, so Emma has a grandmother that's always there to help her out, and his brother and best friend are both ready to take on the job. They're obviously nervous, but also really excited."

Do you have a dream role?
"I would love to play someone in a biopic. I'm not really sure who though, maybe a musician. I'm a drummer, so if I could play a drummer or someone like Keith Moon [drummer for The Who], that'd be cool. I got super lucky and booked Kyle XY when I was really young. I had no acting experience and I grew up on that show. It gave me a really good start, and I'm still figuring out what kind of acting I want to do. I'm coasting until I find what fits best for me."
You said you're a drummer. Are you in a band?
"No, I'm not in a band. I have a kit back home in Vancouver, but I don't have one here in L.A. Maybe one day. But that's like the most cliché thing actors can do, so I'm trying to stay away from it!"

What are you currently listening to?
"My favorite band ever since I can remember is Rush, the Canadian band. I listen to Ray LaMontagne, who is really good. I've been into the folky stuff lately. I love John Mayer; I think he's incredible. My music library is so wild. I listen to everything on the planet, but I listen to Rush all day long, every day."
Are you reading any good books right now?
"I just finished Steven Pressfield's . It's incredible. It gets you on your feet. It's not an inspirational book, but it talks about how procrastination is resistance and ways to get that out of your life. It's incredibly important cause we all procrastinate."
