The Beauty Evolution of Jennifer Lawrence, from Long Hair to Short Hair and Everything in Between
From Kentucky girl to Academy-Award-winning actress by the age of 21, Jennifer Lawrence is a force to be reckoned with. Sure, you probably know her best as the arrow-slinging, braid-wearing Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games film series, girl's got range—she rocks everything from sassy attitude in American Hustle to shape-shifting prowess in this month's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
With her action-packed résumé, it's clear that J. Law has the remarkable ability to portray impossibly agile and nimble characters, but we all love her for her more mortal moments. (Remember that fall at the Oscars? And that other one the following year? Adorable!)
But much like her character, Mystique, Jennifer has the uncanny ability to undergo transformations time and time again without losing her signature charm. We've seen the long and short of her hair, her endearing freckles, and regal updos. In honor of her most recent film, we've charted all her best beauty looks in one slideshow. Click through and watch America's new sweetheart get all grown up.

At the 14th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala, Jennifer's hair is carefully styled away from her face (for a similar effect, blowdry with a round brush, then direct hair backwards with a larger-barrel curling iron). She's also rocking '70s-looking bangs, which were relatively (and sadly!) short-lived for the actress. For makeup, she introduces what will become her signature: A dramatic eye with a nude lip.

Upon arrival at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards (where she is a first-time nominee for Best Actress in Winter’s Bone!), Jennifer is the epitome of a classic beauty in her red Calvin Klein gown and bombshell hair. Her nude lipstick perfectly keeps the attention on her copper-toned smoky eye, one of the best colors for making green eyes pop.

At the 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, Jennifer continues to impress on the red carpet. Rocking a slightly lighter color (notice she didn’t go straight back to blonde! It’s important to transition slowly for a healthy mane) and a gorgeous, side-swept updo, she absolutely epitomizes modern glamour.
