Beauty Look of the Week: Jennifer Lawrence at The Hunger Games' Los Angeles Premiere
Jennifer Lawrence showed up to premiere looking brilliant in a golden Prabal Gurung dress. For a moment, we were so stunned by her radiant beauty that we couldn't tell if it was Jennifer on the carpet or her Hunger Games counterpart, Katniss Everdeen, aka "the girl on fire." According to the actress's stylist Elizabeth Stewart, "[The Prabal dress] was a no-brainer. There was never another option for the first premiere. We all loved it that much! It's Jennifer's favorite look to date: strong, bold, daring, yet still simple." Want to know how to get the star's luminous beauty look? We asked her makeup artist, hairstylist, and hair colorist to spill all the details!

The Makeup
Celebrity makeup artist and Avon Global Creative Color Director, Jillian Dempsey, wanted to create a bold look for Jennifer. "She likes to be daring," says Dempsey, who focused on accentuating Jennifer's eyes. She lined them with a deep black liner and then applied a gold eye shadow on the lids. Next, she used a featherbrush to blend the edges of the liner with the gold shadow in order to get multidimensional sparkle. Then, Dempsey darkened the brows to further accentuate her eyes and frame her face. To create a sunkissed glow, she started by using contour powder to sculpt her cheeks. Next, she applied a mix of two peachy cream blushes on the apples of her cheeks. For a finishing touch, Dempsey chose to go with a subtle lip, applying a soft coral lip stain and then layering a nude lipstick on top to achieve a creamy texture.

Jennifer rocked an ethereal, crystal-embellished bun to complement her golden gown. Dove celebrity stylist, Mark Townsend, incorporated a romantic braid and wispy face-framing layers to keep the look from feeling too metallic and sporty. He gave us the lowdown on how he created this dazzling 'do.
"I started by applying a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to Jennifer's damp hair and blow-dried with a large round brush. Next, I took three-inch sections of hair, sprayed Dove Style+Care Thermal Replenishment Spray on them, and then wrapped each one around a one-inch curling iron. I sprayed Sally Hershberger Genius Spray Wax all over to give her hair second-day texture. I used two Jennifer Behr headbands: I curved one along the top of her chignon, and I cut the other one and braided it into her hair and then pinned the braid into a bun. Tip: I always spray Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo on my bobby pins to give them extra hold. I finished by spraying Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray all over to keep every hair in place all night."

The Hair
In order to play Katniss, Jennifer had to become a brunette, but she decided to go back to her natural color for the movie premiere. Avon’s Global Colorist, Lorri Goddard, created the soft and natural blonde highlights that Jennifer rocked on the carpet. "To achieve her new look, I created multi-layers of highlights throughout her hair: a bit finer at her scalp and heavier at her ends to create a ’little girl on the beach’ look," Goddard says. Here’s her guide to how you can get a subtler version of this at home.
"First, you need to identify your natural hair color. To do this, look right at the roots of your hair and then compare the color to a shade chart. Next, choose one of Avon’s Advance Techniques Hair Color shades that is two or three shades lighter than your natural color. When applying the product, get a child’s toothbrush and dip it in the mid color. Pick up fine strands of hair and lightly brush on the color at your part, and layer on the color more heavily at the ends."
