Recreate Jennifer Lawrence's Tousled Tresses from the 2013 SAG Awards

The Silver Linings Playbook star's hairstylist tells you how he achieved these glamorous waves.

Jennifer Lawrence sported ultra-sleek hair at the SAG awards this year. Side waves are quickly becoming a runway and red carpet favorite, and the actress pulled off the trendy 'do flawlessly. The simple yet sophisticated style paired beautifully with her strapless gown and mega-watt diamond necklace.

"I wanted Jennifer's hair to be young and very modern," explains Dove celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend. Read on to learn his pro tricks for keeping the look in place and giving your strands a healthy high shine.

To get her side swept waves, Townsend started by applying a nickel size amount of the new Dove Color Care Leave On Conditioner into Jennifer’s damp hair. "Jennifer has colored her hair so much lately, so it really needs the added moisture and protection," said Townsend.

Then, Townsend took a small amount of Dove Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum in his hands, rubbed them together and then raked his fingers through the waves to break them up and give the hair amazing shine.

Next, Townsend loaded her hair with the Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse and blow dried with a large round brush. To give her hair a loose wave, he wrapped sections of hair varying from 2 to 5 inches around a 1 1/4 inch curling iron, leaving the ends out.

He then took the hair from the right side, twisted it and pinned it in the back with a few bobby pins. To give the hair a cool, lived-in texture, he sprayed Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray from mid-length to ends and scrunched with his hands.

Finally, Townsend liberally sprayed Dove Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray to give Jennifer’s hair a little extra shine and to keep it in place all night.
