See Karl Lagerfeld’s Final Chanel Runway Show

Chanel presented the late Karl Lagerfeld’s final collection in Paris on Tuesday inside a winter wonderland chalet. The event space was both a fitting display of Parisian elegance and a somber tribute to the legendary designer.

One of Lagerfeld’s many supermodel muses, Cara Delevingne, opened the show wearing a houndstooth jacket layered over a check print jumpsuit and matching hat. Kaia Gerber and Adut Akech wore all-white mini dresses that would be the perfect ensemble for a fancy winter fête. Other looks ranged from long hot pink dresses to head-to-toe black jumpsuits and capes; each look was unique, but somehow they all came together beautifully.

For the finale, David Bowie’s “Heroes” (Lagerfeld was a known fan of David Bowie) played as models walked together back down the runway, some crying, others solemnly holding hands. It was a beautiful acknowledgment of Karl’s incredible contribution to the iconic fashion house, one that his fans will never forget.
