Exclusive! We Went Behind the Scenes with Keke Palmer to Rehearse Her Cinderella Debut
We're only hours away from Broadway history being made. Tomorrow is Keke Palmer's debut in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, and we were lucky enough to go behind-the-scenes and see exactly how a talk show host-slash-actress-slash-musician gets turned into one of New York City's most highly-anticipated theater stars. Trust us: It looked like a whole lot of fun (and even more hard work).

2/7"Broadway was always something I hoped I would do," Keke says. "Mainly because I grew up hearing so much about theater through my parents—they did a lot of theater when they were in high school and college."
3/7"Rehearsals are from 12-1pm with music lessons, and then I have up to four hours of dance, staging, and vocal lessons," Keke says. "My days usually end around 5-6pm, so it wasn't bad at all!"
4/7"My Cinderella might be a little bit sillier, just because I have a very good sense of humor in my daily life," Keke says. "So there will be moments where I'm able to show that, but still within the boundaries, because Cinderella isn't necessarily a comedian."
5/7"Believe it or not, these are my actual nails! They're so sparkly—perfect for Cinderella."
6/7"Doing Broadway is so different than film," Keke says. "There's a lot more work put into it. Actually, this is the most work I've ever put into any project. Acting is so stop and start, and with this you're just goin' the whole way through."
7/7"I've always been the type of person who seizes the moment, so I was like, 'Ok, this might be my opportunity to do Broadway—let's try it,'" Keke says about going for the role of Cinderella. "I auditioned and I ended up getting it."
