Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, and the Cast of “Little Women” Attend the World Premiere in New York City
After months of anticipation, the final countdown to the release of Greta Gerwig’s Little Women has begun. The upcoming film adaptation of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel hits theaters on December 25, 2019, and contains a star-studded cast, including Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep. Ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut, the cast gathered at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art on December 7 to celebrate Little Women’s world premiere — and the fashion was off the charts.
Of course, it’s not surprising that Little Women’s cast came equipped with their red carpet A-game; each of the film’s stars is a style icon in their own right. And the film itself, despite not being out in the world just yet, contains a host of outfits very similar to 2019’s prairie dress trend — a look we’ve seen numerous times on red carpets this year.

The actor pulled out all the stops in an all-black outfit consisting of an ornate Balenciaga gown, thigh-high velvet boots, and Fred Leighton jewelry. Her hair was swept up off her face, drawing plenty of attention to her crimson lips and full brows.

Saoirse wore a Gucci dress that truly looked like it belonged in a museum: the embellished neckline, the sheer sleeves, the thigh-high slit — all of it, perfection. We’re also digging her sleek-straight hair and asymmetrical part.

Florence looked every bit the holiday present in a turquoise Valentino gown, equipped with an off-the-shoulder sash draped around her body like an oversized bow. Dramatic drop earrings and strappy sandals finished off the look.

The matriarch of the March family sparkled on the red carpet just as much as her on-screen daughters. Laura was seen wearing a midnight-colored Ralph Lauren Collection crystal-embroidered gown. The acclaimed director celebrated the release of her upcoming film in a crystal-embroidered Oscar de la Renta Spring 2020 gown. According to the brand’s Instagram page, it took over 400 hours to place the appliqués along the black tulle to create the breathtaking diagonal floral effect.
