We Got Ready With Madison Pettis For Her 17th Bday Party

- 1/15
Last year, Madison Pettis invited us to get ready with her for her Sweet 16. And let's just say, she knows how to throw an epic party. We hoped we'd be invited back for her next bday. Lo and behold, the Disney darling asked us to attend, and we jumped at the opportunity. For her 17th birthday party, Madison threw a chic dinner for her besties. "I'm having a dinner party in Malibu! The house is right on the beach — it's so gorgeous. I wanted to do something small and intimate with really good food!" she tells Teen Vogue.
Madison turned up the glam factor in a gorgeous, summery white dress and corresponding bombshell hair and makeup. "Madison is wearing a white dress, so it gave us room to pretty much do what we wanted," says celeb makeup artist Allan Avendaño. "Obviously bronze, glowing skin and makeup go perfectly with white! It's important to take into consideration the outfit, because the whole look has to be cohesive!" he adds.

The Pre-Party
"I wanted to make Madison glow," says Avendaño. "The emphasis was making her beautiful complexion shine. To complement that, we decided to go with a bronze smoky eye and a pink toned nude lip shade for a subtle pop of color," he explains. First, Avendaño prepped Madison's skin with the Nude Skincare ProGenius Omega Treatment Milk for hydration. Then, he applied Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation in Bisque 5C. To achieve Madison's sculpted features, he added dimension with the Sephora Highlight Lowlight Face Contour Duo — simply blending with a Beautyblender sponge.

Makeup Madness
For Madison's goddess glow, Avendaño blended Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Incandescent Electra - Cool Peach on the apples of her cheeks. Then, he topped off her cheekbones and brow bone with Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight.

Curl Power
"The finished hair look was the soft, romantic, boho wave," says hairstylist Randy Stodghill. "Madison has a great sense of herself and her style. She knew the exact look she wanted for her party," he adds. First, Stodghill applied Kerastase mousse all over her wet strands, then added Kevin.Murphy Damage.Manager heat-protecting spray and blow dried her hair. Next, he spiraled her strands midway to the ends using a 1-inch curling iron. Then, he raked his fingers through her curls using a small amount of pomade to seal the deal. To give her curls serious staying power, he finished by misting a coat of Kenra Platinum Finishing Spray. Madison is giving us a case of curl envy.

Finishing Touches
"Madison rocks a natural look most days so we went for a little extra glamour for her special day. I wanted to bring out the hazel color in her eyes, so we created extra drama with deep bronze shadows," says Avendaño. "On her eyes, I used Dior 5 Colour Eyeshadow Palette in Cuir Cannage and Diorshow Khol Stick in Smoky Brown. I finished it off with two coats of Lancome Hypnose Mascara in Black. For her lips, I used Kevyn Aucoin Lip Pencil in Minimal and followed by Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Ciel Rose," he adds.

But First, A Selfie
"I love working with Allan and Randy because I don't usually have an idea of what I want for my hair and makeup before they come over. I just show them my outfit and let their creative juices flow! They are seriously artists and I always love how it turns out, so I never worry if I'm going to like it or not. They always make me feel so glam!" Madison tells us.

The Reveal
"This year is going to be huge! I have a really exciting announcement to make in just a few weeks, and I can't wait to spill the beans. Other than that, it's my last year of high school, and I've always heard that senior year is the best. I'm looking forward to really enjoying my last homecoming, prom, grad night, and all the other fun stuff!" says Madison.

Head To Toe
"I found this really pretty white one shoulder BCBG dress a while ago, but didn't really have an occasion for it. I knew I loved it, so I just got it and held onto it. It makes me feel like a Grecian Goddess. I thought it'd be perfect for a classy summer night like my birthday," says Madison

Besties
"My favorite thing about birthdays is seeing all my favorite people in one place! It's so much fun getting all my friends from different parts of my life together, and they get to meet each other, like my school friends meeting friends I've worked with," says Madison. Here, she poses with actress BFF Torri Webster pre-party.
