We Got Ready with Madison Pettis for Her Sweet 16! Check Out the Pretty Pics
Disney darling Madison Pettis has essentially grown up in front of the camera, and yesterday's milestone birthday was no different. "I can't believe it," she told Teen Vogue about celebrating the monumental date. "But it's so exciting to have my friends here with me.
Before the star's sweet 16 at the Emerson Theater in Los Angeles, Madison gave us an extra-special invitation to primp with her in her hotel room. There, we caught up with the birthday girl and her glam squad and found out how to really prepare for a party.

A Good Blowdry
"Madison has naturally curly, luscious hair," explains her stylist, Glenn Nutley. "But she wanted a soft, loose wave for her party. To start, I applied Wen Volumizing Treatment Spray to her roots, then worked in some Smoothing Gloss to the mid-lengths and ends to help control frizz. Then, I gave her a completely straight blow-dry. This is essential for smooth, easy texture!"

Perfecting the Complexion
Meanwhile, artist Allan Avendaño worked on the star’s skin. "I mid a little bit of moisturizer with Sephora’s 10-Hour Perfection Foundation to make it more sheer. Then I applied it with a foundation brush and patted it into her skin with a sponge for seamless coverage. After, I applied a little bit of concealer under the eyes. For the cheeks, I only used the Sephora Beauty of Giving Back Palette. I contoured using a bronze shade, then applied a peach shade to pop the apples. I finished by highlighting the tops of the cheekbones with an opalescent shade."

Let's Roll!
"Once all the hair was straight, I separated it into sections and curled each one with a one-inch iron. If you're trying this at home, it's crucial to curl away from the face on both sides! I then pulled each section to the back of her head and pinned it up. This process allows the hair to cool in a desired shape. After a few minutes, I misted with a light hairspray to make sure it set nicely."

Party Shot
Madison and a group of her friends—there were over 200 people in attendance!—at the big party. What's next for the tenacious teen? "I'd love to take on a role that's much different for me. Something that will put me out of my comfort zone, challenge me as a person, and allow me to grow as an actress," she says.

Letting Her Hair Down
Once the hair had cooled, Nutley worked the curls into a softer wave. "I applied Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil through the ends, then sprayed all over using their Dryspun Finish Spray, which creates texture, before breaking up the curls with a wide-toothed comb. Then, all she needed was a light mist of hairspray!"

Finishing Touches
While the glam squad worked their last bits of magic, Madison contemplated the big 1-6. "I can't believe it's happened already. It feels like just yesterday, I was 13. But 16 feels so much more mature, and I feel more opportunities are coming! For one, I'm getting my driver's license, which is amazing!"

No Filter Necessary
To make the star’s eyes pop, Avendaño created a bronze smoky look. "I used the Sephora Collection Fall Into Luxury Baked Eye and Face Palette," he explains. "I mid the ’Silk’ and ’Tweed’ colors and patted them into the center of the lid with a hard brush for an opaque delivery—the fluffier the brush, the more transparent the color. Then, I added black and bronze shades to the corner of the eyes and diffused it in an upward angle and into a crease, which almost creates a blended triangular shape. I also smudged those same two shades into the bottom lash line. To finish, I highlighted the inner corners of her eyes using a light, shimmery shade called ’Crochet.’" After a quick curl and two coats of mascara, she was ready for a selfie with her Life of Boys costar Torri Webster.
