Marc by Marc Jacobs's Final Collection Is a Whimsical Ode to Your Favorite Fairy Tale

Earlier this week, news of a mysterious Marc by Marc Jacobs pop-up shop — for lack of a better word — popped up. The signage that promised an October 30th opening surfaced in a West Village storefront was discreet, but it didn't stop hopeful rumors from spreading. Fortunately, the excitement was warranted.
The designer announced six months ago that his beloved diffusion line would be discontinued, but we didn't know when the inevitable fate would hit or, more importantly, what the last collection would look like. And now we do: For his final bow, he looked to Disney's 1950s classic Alice in the Wonderland, a whimsical if bittersweet tale that's inspired Marc often over the years.
The animated heroine is an appropriate muse for the designer, who's always dreaming up similarly fanciful ideas — some of which will be available November 1st, when the "I Am Not Like Other Girls" capsule collection hits stores.
