What's the last great thing you bought?
From Raf Simons, this massive coat with a big hood that makes me feel quite tough.
What are you dying to buy right now?
There are a few coats from Lanvin, but god—tough on the ol' wallet. Also some coats from Prada. Coats are my favorite thing, and it's always cold in England. I'm comfortable spending a bit of money if you know you're going to be wearing it 10 years later.

You were chosen for the Macy's campaign because of your personal style. How would you describe your look?
I like it keep it fairly simple, I quite like a classic look. I like fitted coats, always a pair of black jeans. Simple colors—I never like to over-complicate things.
Was there ever a time you didn't have such a great sense of style?
I went through a hip hop stage when I was in school. Big baggy jeans with words graffiti-ed down the side, kind of the Fresh Prince thing, and huge spiked hair, like Vanilla Ice. DCs, Airwalk, and Vans for shoes. But I still honestly to this day believe I was a trendsetter at my school.

How is modeling different then acting?
It's a different discipline. With acting, I've got a character to inhabit. You've got to think about your intentions and your directions. In modeling, even though there's an act to it, a good model is a good model. For me it's uncomfortable territory. You start to feel quite insecure about yourself. There's nothing between you and the camera, and it's just you.

Who are your biggest style icons?
James Dean was quite cool, a young Clint Eastwood, and definitely Tom Waits. More contemporary, Pharrell is really cool. He's good because he mis really simple stuff with a modern look.
On that note, who do you admire when it comes to acting?
Clint Eastwood, he was so iconic. He's still cool, but when he was young he was cool. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Meryl Streep... and Ryan Gosling. You get put off by the fact that girls are like, "Ryan Gosling! Ryan Gosling!" But then I sat down and watched him, and his films are really good. He's got George Clooney's charm.

What are your all-time favorite movies?
The kind of writing that excites me is dialogue-driven, like in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. I loved Annie Hall, and Manhattan, too. The writing's just so wonderful.
What's on your iPod?
My girlfriend made me a playlist of loads of music I've never heard, and it's all great. I'm into this band at the moment called the Cocteau Twins. A Scottish band who's very '70s, a tiny bit like Bjork—they're amazing.
What's the show you can't stop watching?
I just finished .

What's next for you?
I'm getting ready to go to Louisiana for The Host, with Andrew Niccol and Saoirse Ronan, who is amazing, and she's going to be so great for the part. We start filming on the fifteenth of February and we go through May 1. We've got Andrew Niccol, who's wonderful, and we've got a great script he's developed from Stephenie Meyer's book. It's going to be great.
Is it going to be the next Twilight?
I don't think it's going to be the same as is a different, and I'm excited to see where it goes.
