Mean Girls Movie Premiere: See All the Celebrity Dresses, Outfits and Looks
The time is nigh! The new musical movie adaptation of Mean Girls is about to release and the press tour looks are starting to roll in. On January 8, the film had its official global premiere in New York City's AMC Lincoln Square Theater with celebs flocking from all corners of the U.S. to grace the pink carpet.
Of course, our new Cady Heron (Angourie Rice), Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), Regina George (Reneé Rapp) as well as the new cohort of plastics (Avantika as Karen Shetty and Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey) and Janis (Auli'i Cravalho) all made their way to the city to attend the event — but so did other familiar faces.
It wouldn't be a Mean Girls event without Tina Fey, of course, but some of the original cast members (namely Lindsay Lohan, Daniel Franzese, and Rajiv Surendra) were also surprise guests at the premiere. Megan Thee Stallion, who put out a song with Reneé Rapp for the movie, also surprised everyone with an unexpected appearance.
In true Mean Girls style, a lot of the attendees opted for pink accents in the ‘fits (though the premiere did not fall on a Wednesday… someone forgot to check the rules!) but we have to admit Surendra won in our books rewearing the original movie’s iconic North Shore High School mathletes varsity jacket.
