With so many of our favorite celebrities walking the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala, we had to get the 411 on some of their skincare regimens leading up to the big night. In order to have glowing skin like a Jenner or a Hadid, some serious prep and top notch products are involved in getting that flawless finish. We caught up with some of the best skin professionals who will be providing celebrities with facials and skin solutions for this year’s Met Gala. The pros of Natura Bissé , SK-II, Guerlain, and more gave us details on what it’s like to help a client get ready for such a huge event, and how we can try similar routines right at home. Which clients are you working with?I can't say just yet but I'm excited to be working with a client that I've worked with often for the last few years. What do you tell your clients to do skin-wise during the weeks/days leading up to the Met?I always tell my clients to use SK-II Facial Treatment Essence daily in the days and weeks leading up to the Met Gala. What do you tell your clients to do skin-wise during the weeks/days leading up to the Met?Let your skin breathe. Don't cake it up with makeup. Use only natural skincare and get rid of the poison in your bathroom. Start using a natural exfoliator like my Enzyme Exfoliant. It comes closest to receiving the facial at the Tracie Martyn spa. I love a great party and am not a saint with my diet but I refuse to put junk on my skin (think of the trans-dermal effect of the nicotine or contraceptive patch, you don't want petrochemicals in your bloodstream). So I recommend a pure beauty ritual:
Start with a sulfate detergent-free foaming wash like my Amla Purifying Cleanser. It’s packed with green papaya enzyme to digest away old skin cells and Ayurvedic goodness from the namesake Amla berry that contains several times more stable vitamin C than citrus fruits.
After cleansing I do like to multi-mask, so if I am not using the Enzyme Exfoliant mentioned above I go for the magical Complexion Savior that contains malachite crystal to save our skin. By that I mean no New Age mystery but rather the fact that studies show it increases the protective antioxidant glutathione found in your skin. We call it Gemceuticals science.
Next I recommend an alcohol-free toner. My Absolute Purity toner combines protective antioxidants from organic white tea with purifying organic olive leaf extract to ward off breakouts
As a moisturizer I recommend my Face Resculpting cream because it is moisturizing without being greasy, relies on Omega-3 rich black currant oil that deeply penetrates, calms, and nourishes.
It's a great makeup base (I started my career as a makeup artist doing many of the Victoria's Secret shoots)and smells divine — real organic Bulgarian rose oil not the synthetic stuff filled with hormone disrupting phtalates.
The secret weapon of course are the LotuSculpt eye pads and activator as they can erase over-working, over-partying etc. You wet the pads with the activator, leave on for 10 minutes and voila: brighter, smoother, less puffy under-eye area.

Take your makeup off at night, yes even if it’s mineral. Let your skin breathe and feed it with nutraceuticals and superfoods.
You cannot rely on your olive oil and avocado and oranges mask you made in your kitchen or your cucumber slice eye pads. If that worked so well there would be no beauty industry. Herbs, vitamins, antioxidants, etc. deliver extra protection in a world far from pure. And of course good nutrition, sleep, exercise, and meditation will minimize the stress on your skin from 21st-century living.

What do you tell your clients to do skin-wise during the weeks/days leading up to the Met?I have them come for a deep cleanse 10 days before, then my radio frequency Forever Facial a week before, and my Triple Crown Facial the day of the event. I also recommend that they don't drink or eat any gluten. What do you do the day of the Met Gala to prepare your clients’ skin?I start by doing a head-to-fingertips microdermabrasion followed by an arnica, Argan oil, and chlorophyll mask to soothe, hydrate, and oxygenate skin. I follow with my Triple Crown Facial to contour the face and tighten skin. Which clients are you working with? In past years, I’ve done treatments for Alexander Wang, Tory Burch, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Behati Prinsloo. We have a great list of celebs getting prepped for the red carpet as we speak. Look out for our signature glowing skin on the red carpet. What do you tell your clients to do skin-wise during the weeks/days leading up to the Met?For my clients going to the Met Gala, I suggest a course of three facials over three weeks. The first facial will focus on detoxing, the second on hydration, and the third on lifting and tightening. Tip #1: Switch to an oil cleanser to deep clean the skin without drying it out or alternating the pH balance
Tip #2: Give yourself a glycolic or enzyme peel or even better, a resurfacing facial treatment to smooth, and soften the skin one week prior to the event.
Tip #3: Go to bed with a hydrating overnight mask at least three times a week, drink plenty of water, and be sure to eat plenty of omega-rich foods like avocado
Tip #4: Make sure to stop using any topical daily AHA’s and retinols two weeks prior to ensure skin isn’t peeling, sensitive, or dry
Tip #5: Massage the skin at least 5 minutes, at a minimum of three times a week, to boost circulation and soften tense, tight muscles

What do you tell your clients to do skin-wise during the weeks-days leading up to the Met? I insist that the clients use an exfoliator at least two to three times per week to make sure all of their serums and creams are being allowed to penetrate the skin. I also recommend using Guerlain Midnight Secret at least two to three nights per week leading up to the event, as many of the celebrity clients are on red-eye flights to and from L.A./NYC and Midnight Secret makes your skin look like you slept on a bed of rose petals with only 3 hours of sleep. Midnight Secret is now available in a small travel tube too. Also hydrate lips. No one wants lips to look dry! What's the #1 skincare commandment you swear by?NEVER go to bed with your makeup on. I don't care how tired you are or if you are stumbling through your home to find your bed. Find your bathroom first and wash your face. A fabulous product to cleanse the face, remove eye makeup, and tone the skin could be right in front of you with Guerlain Micellar Cleansing Water. With a few sweeps of a cotton ball or washcloth, this cleansing water gently removes all your makeup and even if you then fall into bed, at least you know your face and pillowcase will thank you.
