Hailey Baldwin Reveals Her 2016 Met Gala Must-Haves

Her sparkly Tommy Hilfiger dress is already one of the night’s best (and most fitting for the futuristic “Manus x Machina” theme), but everyone knows the real fun starts for the stars even before they arrive. Way before the hair, makeup, or dress went on, we met up with Hailey in her hotel in New York for a good old-fashioned glam session — and picked her brain on what it’s like to attend the annual Met Gala. Photo: Jacqueline Harriet2/14While most of us might spend the morning before a big night running around and ironing out last minute details, Hailey spent her day (smartly) chilling out. “I just made sure I was well rested,” she explains. “I did my final fittings and just hung out with the team who is getting me ready today. I saw my chiropractor and just made sure I felt relaxed for the day.” Procrastinators, take note!
Photo: Jacqueline Harriet3/14“My dress is sequined so it's kind of flashy in the best way,” Hailey says. “I wanted to keep everything very sleek and simple, very modern.”
Photo: Jacqueline Harriet4/14“Last year was my first year so I was really nervous," Hailey says. "But during the night one of my close friends pulled me aside outside and we kind of just walked around looking at everything. We had our own little moment to appreciate the exhibit.”

"The whole team at Tommy was very open to all of my ideas, which was so nice because it really was a group effort," she explains. "I love the long arms and the finger holes in the dress. I think the structure is perfect."
